Each CL-Computer includes 12 months of updates and knowledge-base access. After that, renew for 3, 6 or 12 months.

If you don't renew: the engines already on the machine keep working. Knowledge-base answers and new releases stop until you renew; the license still has to be renewed online at least every 30 days.

What leaves the machine

Chat with the local engine isn’t sent to us, and CalibraLogic’s software contains no telemetry, analytics or crash-reporting code. Knowledge-base answers, map identification, license activation, update checks and engine downloads do use the internet — the full list is in the FAQ below.

What’s the difference between CL-Computer and Software-Only on my own PC?expand_more
Both use the same engines. CL-Computer comes as a complete machine: Windows 11 Pro, drivers and the GPU memory setting are configured by us; hardware warranty: {{WARRANTY_TERM}}, handled by {{WARRANTY_CONTACT}}. With Software-Only you provide the PC: it must be on our hardware compatibility list, and hardware support stays with its manufacturer.
My PC has 128 GB of RAM. Can it run the same engines as CL-Computer 128?expand_more
Not necessarily. On CL-Computer the processor and graphics share one memory pool. Up to 96 GB can be assigned to the GPU in Windows on CL-Computer 128. In a PC with a separate graphics card, the engines run best when they fit in the card’s own memory — system RAM doesn’t count toward that. We confirm compatibility before you buy Software-Only.
Does it work without an internet connection?expand_more
Chat with the engine runs on the machine, so it keeps answering without a connection — from the model alone, without knowledge-base references. {{OFFLINE_VERIFIED}} The license has to be renewed online at least every 30 days; knowledge-base answers, WinOLS map identification, update checks and engine downloads need a connection.
What does the software send over the internet?expand_more
  • Knowledge-base answers: the conversation goes to CalibraLogic’s cloud engines — your messages, earlier replies, file contents shared in the chat, the working folder path and basic system details (platform, date).
  • WinOLS map identification: the map list (names and addresses) is sent; the calibration values stay on the machine.
  • WinOLS questions from the plugin: unless it is set to the local engine, the question, the map name and up to 64 cell values go to a cloud engine.
  • License: activating or renewing it (needed at least every 30 days) sends your CalibraLogic API key, the license ID and a hardware ID — a one-way hash of the machine’s identifiers.
  • Engine list: at startup, if you’re signed in, the software fetches the list of available cloud engines (sends your API key).
  • Update check: at startup, at most once a day, the software asks CalibraLogic’s download server whether a new version exists. It can be turned off.
  • Engine downloads: installing or updating an engine downloads its files from CalibraLogic’s download server, or from the public model repository Hugging Face if that fails.
  • Third-party services, only when a feature needs them: the first file search downloads a search tool from GitHub; showing some code blocks downloads syntax files from GitHub; a cloud engine’s web tool makes web requests from your machine; sharing a session (/share) uploads it to a session-sharing service.
  • CalibraLogic’s software contains no telemetry, analytics or crash-reporting code.
What happens if I don’t renew updates?expand_more

Can I upgrade the memory or storage later?expand_more
Memory is built onto the board and can’t be upgraded, so choose the tier for the memory you need. Storage can be expanded: CL-Computer 128 has two M.2 slots, CL-Computer 192 has three.
What’s the difference between CL-Computer 128 and CL-Computer 192?expand_more
Memory and model class: 192 GB instead of 128 GB of unified memory, and the {{CLASS_192}} engine class instead of {{CLASS_128}}.
Can several people use it?expand_more
One person at a time. The engine serves only the machine it runs on and isn’t shared over your network.
